Every year in September the THESSALONIKI INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR is held in Thessaloniki, exhibiting Greek and foreign products of every description. Saint Demetrios, the patron of Thessaloniki has his name day  celebrated throughout the city on October 26th.
